Bolts (No Nuts)

Gdańsk Głowny

Yes, I use the Bolt app. I used it three times when I was in Poland in April 2025.

I find it invaluable for airport transfers and used it for that in both Kraków (48.84 zł) and Gdańsk (57.30 zł). I also used it to get from my hotel in Kraków (the B&B Hotel) to the railway station. That cost was 18.79 zł.

Gdynia

My other travels were (almost) all by train or tram. I took PKP’s EIP service from Kraków to Warsaw. It was fast. It was comfortable. It cost me 131 zł (£26.57). I chose first class, but PKP does not give a senior discount on EIP services. It took 2.5 hours.

Kraków Airport

I took a normal intercity service from Warsaw to Malbork. It took was comfortable, but not as fast (obviously). It was a 2.5 hour journey as well. My ticket cost 60.20 zł (£12.21) – first class again but with a senior discount. Intercity tickets are usually cheaper than the EIP ones.

I was back on an EIP for the short hop to Gdańsk from Malbork – 63 zł (£13) in second class for the 30 minute journey.

By Tram…

I took trams in Warsaw and Gdańsk. The one in Warsaw cost 15 zł (£3) for a 24 hour ticket within the city centre zone. For the equivalent in Gdańsk I paid 11 zł (£2.27).

That is a lot of public transport, plus a few Bolts. Nuts, eh?
