Dublin

My 4th visit. This time the occasion was the annual conference of the Great Britain & Ireland version of Rotary International. Yes… well… pretty dry stuff.

Actually it turned out to be fun. I traveled over with my club’s Junior Vice President. Good company. The Friday afternoon conference session was interesting. Not inspirational, but good.

Then I got distracted. Saturday involved the Book of Kells, The Chester Beatty Library, then lunch at The Winding Stair.

More distraction in the afternoon – the National Museum. Saturday evening missed out the RIBI festivities as well. A pint at O’Neills, then a superb Lebanese meze session at The Cedar Tree (complete with belly dancer), and to finish up a pint at The Stag’s Head in Temple Bar.

thank goodness for Guinness

When I had to pay close on €6 for my Guinness in The Stag’s Head, I did wonder if I should have stuck with the earnest Rotarians. However, I got my fair share of fellowship anyway (no, not with the belly dancer).
