The Big One

Hotel Breakfast

It all kicked off – football free meantime – with a Pegasus flight from Edinburgh to Sabiha Gökçen Airport in the Asian part of Istanbul.

It was the first time I had flown with Pegasus. It was the first time I had used that airport.

By the time I arrived (about 21.30 local time) it was just a case of heading to my hotel close to the airport (the Ibis Styles Kurtköy). I had time for a short walk after checking in, and a small snack to pacify my grumbling stomach.

Snacking Time

Then suddenly it was time to go downstairs for breakfast. Not long after that it was time to check out and be moving on.

Ibis Styles Kurtköy

The verdict on Pegasus? Very good. I had the family from hell in the row behind me, but apart from that… not a pleasant flight, to be honest. People.

The verdict on the airport? Very good. Better than Edinburgh, for sure. That sets the bar very low, of course.

Pendik After Dark

The verdict on the hotel? A lovely room. A wonderful breakfast. Pity about the building site about 5 metres from my room. Noise? Do not get me started.
