why?

I’m having one of those “why do I do it?” moments. I was up at 5.15 this morning to catch the 8am Ryanair to Dublin.

Just enough time for a quick coffee & into the car to get to Edinburgh airport. The usual logjam at security which BAA loves to inflict on its customers, then almost time for a coffee before joining another queue to get on the plane.

A very short flight, with attempts at conversation destroyed by Ryanair’s inane barrage of announcements to try to sell me lottery scratch cards and smokeless cigarettes.

Jump in the Thrifty rented car and navigate around to the south side of Dublin to get to the RDS for the conference.

Exhausted by lunchtime!

Lunch was a “frugal” fundraiser. You pay €10 for bread and soup, with the huge profit going to charity. Hmmm… Another meal missed.

mid morning... before the energy slump

Well, I survived the afternoon session pretty well in the circumstance…

But it’s now 8pm, and I’m ready for bed. I did get a pleasant dinner at the local grill room, so that’s something.
